Mass Ministries

Altar Server: The name “server” identifies the role of an altar server at Mass – to serve God and his people by assisting the priest and parish community in their worship and celebration of the Eucharist. Servers also help in our special celebrations and processions, such as Corpus Christi, Sorrowful Mother procession and sacraments, such as Confirmation, First Communion, and Marriage.

Any person who has received their First Communion can become a server. You must attend a training session on how to serve. If you are interested in becoming a server, please contact Toni Cummings.

Eucharistic Minister: Eucharistic Ministers assist with the distribution of the Sacred Body and Precious Blood of Christ at all masses. You will need to attend a training. If interested in doing this, please contact Toni Cummings.

Lector: Lectors make the Living Word of God present by their proclamation during the Liturgy of the Word. They are trained to help the congregation to better understand the scripture and to successfully communicate the message to the people. For more information on how to become a lector, please contact Toni Cummings.

Usher: Ushers foster a sense of welcome and belonging to those who assemble for Mass and celebrations. The ushers take up the collection, count numbers at Masses and greet those at the front door saying hello. For more information on how to become an usher, please contact Toni Cummings.

Greeter: Greeters foster a sense of welcome and belonging to those who assemble for Mass and celebrations. The greeters greet those at the front door saying hello and welcoming them to our parish and community. May offer a bulletin, offer assistance to those needing help coming in to church or just a warm smile and open arms to the church. For more information on how to become a greeter, please contact Toni Cummings.

Church Choir: The Holy Family Parish Choir is looking for new members, especially sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses. The choir rehearses Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. and sings the first Saturday and third Sunday of each month and major feast days. Praise God in song, make a joyful noise, serve the parish, grow in musical skill, and enjoy the fellowship.

New members are always welcome. Rehearsals generally start mid-September for the year. For more information or questions, contact Matt Trossman at (812) 933-0224 or mtrossman@etczone.com.
